Memories and Reflection

Wow, another year has come and gone and in its wake it has left a long list of memories and reflection:

My memories many wonderful and full of praise such as our daughter not being in the hospital this year, thank You Jesus! Two healthy grandchildren born into the Sallas Ohana, new additions to our church family and another fantastic “Feed the Hungry” where food for your body and soul are served from grateful givers of Hope Chapel Waikiki, the list goes on and on… And then there is the hardest moments in 2014, the loss of two of our closest friends only months apart. Sister in the Lord Dawn and Brother Reyn both were a big part of our daily life both in and out of church, sharing their love for the Lord in their walk and actions never asking for anything in return. As I reflect on their lives, we are so blessed to have countless memories of their love and faithfulness. They truly left us with the best gift having them in our lives. They taught us what a true heart of a servant is and does. I know God has a plan in all things, and sometimes it will be beyond our understanding when something so sad like this happens.

“But thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ”. 1 Corinthians 15:57.

A very wise man said “In Christ, the end is only the beginning!” So as we step into the New Year, let’s bring the love of the Lord into it with us, give the person you’re struggling with a hug, plant a seed where there is none, water it and praise God for all He is and for all he does in our lives. Let’s Thank Him for those gifts He gives us either it be the beauty of our surroundings or the precious people he puts in our path. In all things give Him the Glory!

Oh, give thanks to the Lord of Lords! Psalm 136:3

Happy Blessed New Year to All. -Donna Sallas
