Sermon – Pray And Seek Medical Attention When Sick

This is what the LORD, the God of your father David, says: I have heard your prayer and seen your tears; I will heal you,. On the third day from now you will go up to the temple of the LORD. I will add fifteen years to your life. And I will deliver you and this city from the hand of the king of Assyria. I will defend this city for my sake and for the sake of my servant David.” Then Isaiah said, “Prepare a poultice of figs,” they did so and applied it to the boil, and he recovered. (2 Kings 20:5-7)

Put your house in order. (2 Kings 20:1) (1 Kings 1:20) (Proverbs 14:12)

Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. (Psalm 139:23)

Pour your heart out to GOD. (2 Kings 20:2) (Luke 18:1)

Remember, O LORD, your great mercy and love, for they are from of old. Remember not the sins of my youth and my rebellious ways; according to your love remember me, for you are good, O LORD. (Psalms 25:6-7)

Seek medical attention. (2 Kings 20:7) (John 9:11)

Stop drinking only water, and use a little wine because of your stomach and your frequent illnesses. (1 Timothy 5:23) (2 Kings 4:38-41)
