Listen to sermon [MP3, 16.4 MB]

Date: December 4, 2011

Speaker: Pastor Dennis Sallas

Then he said to me, “Son of man, eat this scroll I am giving you and fill your stomach with it.”  So I ate it, and it tasted as sweet as honey in my mouth.  (Ezekiel 3:3)

Psalms 1

1 Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers.

2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night.

3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season, and whose leaf does not wither.  Whatever he does propers.

4 Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away.

5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment nor the sinners in the assembly of the righteous.

6 For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.

The law was given to show us that we are sinners.  The law in this sense is the Word of God.  (1 John 5:3)

The law of the LORD is perfect reviving the soul. (Psalms 19:7) (Romans 7:16)

(Psalms 119:28) My soul is weary with sorrow; strengthen me according to your word.  The law of the LORD is His Word. (Matthew 11:28-30)

I meditate on your word all day and it make me wiser than my enemies.  (Psalms 119:97-104)

The Word of God is fruitful it will not wither. (Psalms 104:16) (Isaiah 55:11)

Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage with great patience and careful instruction.  (2 Timothy 4:2)

The GODLY will Prosper. The LORD was with Joseph and he prospered, and he lived in the house of his Egyptian master.  (Genesis 39:2-3) (Proverbs 29:25)

Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it.  Then you will be prosperous and successful.  (Joshua 1:8)
